Bensman Family Farms

At Bensman Family Farms we raise cattle the way our grandparents would have. You won’t find any growth hormones, steroids or antibiotics in the meat we sell.  

We raise a limited number of beef cattle for sale to people who are concerned about what they feed themselves and their families. Animals are processed locally to your specifications. We are located between Dayton and Cincinnati Ohio near Waynesville Ohio.

Being a small farm, we do not always have animals available, but the wait is never long and we would love to put you on our preferred list.  

What We Do

We purchase small calves from farmers who care for their animals the same way we do. All of our animals and feed come from other small, local farmers. We like to support our fellow farmers, knowing we are starting out with a quality product and we just need to keep it that way!

Nearly all our cattle this year are Angus, with a few Shorthorn and Hereford. They grow well on grass or grain and are a moderate size frame.

All animals are raised naturally, in a low stress environment. For us, that means:

• Animals are allowed to nurse from their mothers
• The aforementioned restrictions on ‘performance enhancing drugs'
• Animals diets do not include any types of animal byproducts
• Animals are treated humanely – no prods, whips or shocking devices
• Pens are low density, allowing animals to move and exercise. 

We offer grass fed only cattle as well as traditional grain finished beef. For grass fed beef:

• Weather permitting, cattle graze on pasture
• Cattle are on pasture when it is warm and fed hay when it is not. The only other nutrition they receive are minerals and vitamins.
• Pasture ground is not treated with herbicides or pesticides.
